Mrs Storey is from a small town in England. She pursued her academic journey at the University of Sheffield, earning a BSc followed by a PGCE in Mathematics. Her passion for the subject and commitment to education has shaped her into an inspiring and dedicated teacher.
With 15 years of experience in the field of education, Mrs Storey has taught a range of students from Year 6 to Year 13 in Mathematics. She began her career at High Storr’s School in Shefield, UK, and then expanded her horizons by teaching at Nada International School in Saudi Arabia. For the past 11 years, Mrs Storey has been at the British School Manila.
Mrs Storey has had the privilege of hosting international mathematics competitions such as SEAMC and WMC. Her specialisation in nurturing gifted and talented mathematicians has led her to teach Higher Level Mathematics in the IB program, a role she finds particularly fulfilling. Mrs Storey’s dedication and excellence in teaching have been recognized with the prestigious University of Chicago Outstanding Educator award.
Mrs Storey believes in providing students with a robust foundation of knowledge, which she considers essential for building their confidence in mathematics. She emphasizes creating a safe and supportive leaming environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and develop critical thinking skills.
